Navy Blue Leaf Motif Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A Katan silk Banarasi dupatta in deep navy blue, with Kadhua leaf motifs placed thread by thread across the body. The leaf figures repeat in a measured rhythm, and the border frames the long edges. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the leaves and the border are all built in gold against the navy field. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Each motif on this drape is woven, not sewn — the loom holds the figure exactly where it must sit, and the weaver places the weft one careful pass at a time. That discipline of placement is what gives Banarasi Kadhua its enduring value.
Styling Note
Drape long off one shoulder over a coordinated kurta in ivory, deep blue or champagne. Pair with antique-gold or kundan studs; the navy carries pearl and polki beautifully.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
