A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in soft grey, charmed by hand-placed butterfly motifs in cream and silver zari across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate floral border closes the body, and the elaborate aanchal finishes with a defined bewar that gives the pallu its frame. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
The pairing of Kadhua and Ektara on a single piece is what gives this saree its presence. Kadhua builds every butterfly thread by thread; Ektara softens the hand of the silk so the drape moves easily. Together they make a Banarasi that is both precise and forgiving, and the loom hours behind that combination is what makes the textile a luxury.
The Ektara weave gives this drape its hand — softer, flowier, with more gloss and an easier hand to drape than a pure Kadhua piece.
Styling Note
Drapes beautifully Nivi or Bengali style. Pair with classic gold or a delicate kundan necklace and a contrast blouse — deep emerald, plum, or a clean ivory — to lift the grey ground.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
