A handwoven Banarasi Kora silk saree in mint green, with thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs setting the rhythm of the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the sheer Kora ground throws the resham and gold work forward in light. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
The Kadhua tradition is among the most patient on the Banaras loom — every buti carries its own weft, placed motif by motif as the cloth advances. A piece on Kora silk takes the same hours as one on heavier Katan, but finishes lighter; that lightness, earned without shortcut, is part of what makes the textile a luxury.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi-style with the pallu pleated narrow so the motif scatter reads. Pair with delicate gold or polki — small earrings, a thin neckline — and a tonal ivory or contrast coral blouse.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
