Soft Pink Cutwork Pure Silk Handloom Banarsi Lehenga
A handwoven Banarasi lehenga in soft pink, woven in katan silk and carrying hand-finished cutwork floral motifs. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Cutwork is the Banarasi answer to jamdani — extra weft floats are woven through to form the motif, then trimmed by hand from the back of the cloth. The result is a sharp, hand-finished pattern on the surface, with the labour of the trimming as much part of the craft as the weaving itself.
Styling Note
Set on a lehenga panels silhouette so the border carries the eye and the cutwork pattern reads against the body. Pair with kundan or gold jewellery and an ivory or soft gold raw-silk blouse.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom lehenga is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the lehenga to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the lehenga, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the lehenga stay beautiful for years.
