A pink Banarasi saree in pure Kora silk, drawn over with thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs spaced evenly across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the border holding the drape with a clean worked line and the anchal carrying the same motif in a closer arrangement. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Kora silk gives the drape its soft transparency, and Kadhua gives every motif its independent weft — the cloth is sheer enough to see what lies behind it, but the motifs sit on the surface as built, not printed. That balance of lightness and discipline is what makes a Kora Kadhua piece rare to find at this density.
Styling Note
A Nivi drape with the anchal held long lets the sheer ground carry the motifs. Pair with antique-gold or polki jewellery and an ivory, pink or deep-mauve raw-silk blouse.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
