A pure Kora silk Banarasi saree in a soft grey ground, drawn over with floral motifs in multiple colours placed thread by thread across the body. The Kora silk gives the drape its translucence; the multicoloured blooms read clearly against the quiet field. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — with coloured resham laid in alongside the zari at the motifs. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A drape worked in Kadhua holds its own time — weeks of pit-loom work behind every metre, every butti set deliberately into the weft. That investment of hours, more than any single ornament, is what makes a Banarasi piece a luxury textile rather than a printed one.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi or Bengali; the Kora silk falls beautifully in a soft pleat. Pair with kundan or polki — the coloured motifs answer multicoloured stones. A blouse in dove grey, ivory or soft champagne raw silk lets the florals sit forward.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
