Ivory Banarsi Silk Belt
A handwoven Banarasi silk belt in ivory, finished with the same loom discipline the larger drapes are paced by. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the surface carries a quiet zari composition that catches the light along the waist. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A belt of this construction reads as a finished object only because the weaving was patient enough to leave it that way. Banarasi silk is a luxury textile precisely because the loom hours cannot be hurried, and even a piece of this scale is paced through the same hand-work as a full saree.
Styling Note
Wear cinched over a saree, lehenga or kurta to define the waist. Pair with antique-gold or temple jewellery; the ivory reads warm against jewel-toned ensembles.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom belt is not just carried — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the belt to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the belt, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the belt stay beautiful for years.
