Pink And Orange Geometric Pure Katan Silk Fabric Thaan
A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk fabric thaan in pink and orange, carrying geometric motifs across the body in the satin-faced Tanchoi tradition. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with the pattern carried entirely by warp and weft. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Tanchoi is celebrated for its smooth-faced ground and densely packed motif work — the geometry here reads cleanly because there are no extra weft floats, so the back of the cloth is almost as clean as the front. The pink and orange shift across the body is what makes the fabric versatile across many design directions.
Styling Note
Cuts beautifully into a structured kurta or saree blouse, a contrast lehenga ghagra, or a geometric jacket panel. Pair with old-gold or rose-gold detailing to pick up the warm tones.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom textile is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After handling, allow the fabric to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the fabric, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the silk and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the fabric stay beautiful for years.
