A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in soft pink, drawn over with Kadhua motifs built into the body thread by thread in measured spacing. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate Banarasi border frames the drape on every edge, with the aanchal closing the composition in keeping with the body. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Pink is a colour that asks the gold zari to sit forward without competing with the ground — a Kadhua piece in this register is built on careful weft-to-weft choices. Every butti is set into the cloth as the loom advances, and the placement holds across the full length of the drape. The luxury of the textile is in that quiet, hand-counted discipline.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi-style with the pallu pleated narrow to let the body of the saree carry the eye. Pair with delicate gold or polki and a deeper rose, blush or ivory raw silk blouse to keep the palette close.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
