Strawberry Pink Pure Katan Silk Handloom Banarasi Thaan
A handwoven Banarasi thaan in strawberry pink, the length of cloth carrying thread-by-thread Kadhua butis across its field. The motifs are all woven in zari, the small blooms holding their placement evenly down the running length so the fabric can be cut and tailored without losing its rhythm. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Even on a running length, Kadhua doesn't relax — each motif is woven discretely, every butti carrying its own weft. That is what makes Banarasi by the metre rare: it is the same loom discipline that goes into a saree, simply offered as a length for the tailor or the atelier to commission as they wish.
Styling Note
Tailor as a blouse, a sherwani panel, a panelled lehenga or a structured kurta. The pink reads beautifully against ivory, antique gold and deeper wine tones — pair the finished garment with kundan or polki for a softer dress, or with antique-gold jhumkas for a more daily register.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom thaan is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the thaan to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the thaan, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the thaan stay beautiful for years.
