Yellow Kadhua Buti Handloom Banarsi Thaan
A Banarasi fabric thaan in yellow, drawn over with fine Buti motifs that scatter across the field in a quiet, even rhythm. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the placement consistent end to end, the Buti sized to read clearly however the cloth is cut. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A Kadhua Buti thaan is a study in restraint — every small motif is woven on its own weft, the spacing is held even across the entire length, and the back of the cloth is left clean. That kind of measured patience is what gives the textile its luxury, sold by the metre as much as by the drape.
Styling Note
Cut into a blouse, a sleeveless jacket, a sherwani panel or a kurta — the small Buti reads beautifully against a clean cut. Pair finished pieces with antique-gold or polki jewellery.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom fabric is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the fabric to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the fabric, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the fabric stay beautiful for years.
