A handwoven Banarasi pure Katan silk saree in saffron yellow, the field set with a continuous Chinar Jangla — chinar leaves and scrolling vines drawn over the body in unbroken zari work. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, the jangla carrying its vocabulary into the anchal and meeting a steady Banarasi border along every edge. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
The Chinar — Banaras's nod to the Kashmiri plane-tree leaf — gives a Jangla its particular movement, a kind of long, leafy fall that reads down the drape. A jaal of this density is woven thread by thread; the chinars are not embroidered after the cloth has come off the loom. The weaving time is what gives Banarasi its glow and its weight.
Styling Note
Drape in a Nivi style for a vertical line of leaves running down the body, or in a Lehenga drape for a more sculptural fall. Pair with antique-gold or temple jewellery — jhumkas with a slim haar, or a chand-bali. A tonal saffron or contrasting maroon raw-silk blouse both finish the drape.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
