Maroon Motif Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A handwoven Banarasi pure Katan silk dupatta in maroon, the field drawn with thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs and bordered by a steady run of zari along every edge. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, the pattern carried in even placement across the body of the dupatta. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
The richness of a Kadhua dupatta sits in what you can't see: hours of loom time for each motif, no shortcuts and no after-work. That weight of patience is exactly what makes Banarasi a textile that lasts — it is built into the cloth, not laid on top of it.
Styling Note
Drape over a tonal silk kurta or a heavier lehenga, with the dupatta carried in a single pinned pleat or pulled across the front to let the border show. Pair with antique-gold or polki jewellery — kundan jhumkas, a chand-bali, or a slim haar. Maroon reads especially well against gold and ivory.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
