Yellow Kadhua Meenadar Georgette Silk Handloom Dupatta
A Banarasi dupatta in warm yellow, woven on a Georgette silk ground with Kadhua placement and meenakari motifs in coloured silk and zari. The Georgette gives the drape its lightness; the meena work holds the colour. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — set with coloured resham alongside the zari at each motif. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Meenadar is the jewel-work of Banarasi weaving: the motifs are enamelled in coloured silk alongside the zari, so each blossom carries its own palette. That doubling of resham and gold is what gives Meenadar its glow — and why a Meenadar drape reads like illuminated manuscript rather than plain brocade.
Styling Note
Drape long off one shoulder over a coordinated kurta in marigold, deep mustard or ivory. Pair with kundan or polki to echo the meena tones; antique-gold studs are an easy daily option.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
