Red Leaf Motif Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A handwoven Banarasi dupatta in red, woven in pure Katan silk with Kadhua leaf motifs drawn thread by thread across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with an intricate Banarasi border framing the drape. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Kadhua takes its time. Each leaf carries its own weft, so the weaver picks one shape at a time and locks it into the body of the cloth — no shortcut, no embroidery overlay. On a dupatta the loom hours are no shorter; the discipline is the same as a full saree.
Styling Note
Drape the dupatta in a front-fall over a kurta, or wrap it shoulder-to-shoulder over an anarkali. Pair with antique-gold or kundan; red and warm gold are a classic pairing. A deep red, ivory or gold kurta holds the palette.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
