A pure Katan silk Banarasi saree in a rich, jewel-toned pink, with meenakari motifs enamelled in coloured silk alongside zari on a Tanchoi satin ground. Each motif carries its own palette — small enamelled blooms holding colour against the pink field. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — and laid in beside the meena work so the figures glow against the ground. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Meenadar is the jewel-work of Banarasi weaving: the motifs are enamelled in coloured silk alongside the zari, so each blossom carries its own palette. That doubling of resham and gold is what gives Meenadar its glow — and why a Meenadar drape reads like illuminated manuscript rather than plain brocade.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi with the anchal lightly pleated over the shoulder. Pair with kundan or polki — the meena work answers coloured stones beautifully. A blouse in deeper rose, wine or ivory raw silk lets the meena tones lead.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
