A soft Banarasi kora silk saree in dusty rose-pink, with a light hand and a subtle sheen. Tiny leaf-shaped buti motifs in delicate zari run across the body in a quiet, repeating rhythm. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — a slim cream-gold border with a discreet geometric weave, finished at the very edge with a contrasting lime-green piping that lifts the pink beautifully. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Kora silk lends Banarasi a translucence that other silks cannot match — the fabric holds the zari close to the surface and throws the pattern forward in light. Building a piece like this on kora takes the same loom hours as denser silks, but the finish is markedly lighter. That weight, or the lack of it, is part of the luxury.
Styling Note
Wears beautifully in the Nivi style with the pallu pleated narrow so the buti scatter reads. Pair with delicate gold or polki — small earrings, a thin neckline — and a tonal pink or cream blouse to keep the saree centre stage.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
