Yellow Cutwork Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A handwoven summer-silk Banarasi dupatta in a clear yellow, carrying hand-finished cutwork motifs at measured intervals across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with each cutwork motif trimmed by hand from the back of the fabric. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Cutwork demands two passes from the weaver — once at the loom to lay in the extra weft, and again by hand at the back to trim the floats clean. The result is a surface pattern that sits sharp against the ground, with no extra weight to the drape. That patience is what makes Cutwork a quietly serious Banarasi technique.
Styling Note
Drapes long and loose across the shoulder. Pair with gold or kundan jewellery and a tonal raw-silk kurta or blouse beneath.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
