Lilac Leaf Motif Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A handwoven Banarasi dupatta in soft lilac, woven in Pure Katan Silk and carrying thread-by-thread leaf motifs in measured zari, drawn evenly across the field. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the border frames both ends of the drape in measured discipline. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
The defining patience of a Kadhua weave is not in any single motif but in the relationship between them. Each butti is woven separately into the body of the cloth and the spacing is held by hand-count across thousands of picks. The discipline is invisible at a glance and unmistakable up close — and it is what makes a Kadhua piece read as one continuous composition rather than a scattering of decoration.
Styling Note
The dupatta is best draped over a kurta or lehenga set, with the border allowed to fall along the front. Pair with antique gold or polki jewellery and a ivory or tonal lilac raw silk kurta so the weave leads the eye.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
