Mauve Sona Rupa Pure Kora Silk Handloom Banarsi Dupatta
A mauve Banarasi dupatta in sheer Kora silk, drawn over with Sona Rupa motifs in gold and silver zari that sit lightly across the field. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the corner Kuniya at the anchal anchoring the design at the edge. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Sona Rupa is the Banarasi tradition of weaving gold and silver zari in the same piece — two colours of metal threaded across a single warp. On the sheer Kora ground it reads as a soft glimmer rather than a heavy ornament, and the weave time on the dupatta is what gives the textile its quiet luxury.
Styling Note
Throw over an ivory or wine kurta-set, or over a plain silk saree as a second drape. Pair with chand bali earrings and a single delicate gold chain.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
