A pure silk Banarasi saree in a soft taffy pink, with Guldasta — bouquet-style — motifs placed thread by thread across the body. Each Guldasta carries its small floral cluster within the zari work, and the border frames the drape. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the bouquets, the border and the anchal are all built in gold. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
What distinguishes Kadhua from simpler Banarasi techniques is that no thread is ever cut behind the motif — each butti finishes within itself. That cleanness on the reverse is the hallmark of a true Kadhua, and the reason the weaving takes weeks rather than days.
The drape carries a second weave: Ektara. Where Kadhua gives the piece its precision, Ektara gives it its hand — softer, flowier, with a deeper gloss and an easier hand to drape.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi-style with the anchal pleated soft over the shoulder. Pair with polki, kundan or antique-gold; a blouse in deeper pink, blush or champagne raw silk keeps the Guldasta work the focus.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
