Bright Red Silk By Cotton Handloom Banarasi Suit Set
A handwoven Banarasi suit set in bright red, woven in silk-by-cotton with thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs across both the kurta and the dupatta. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with the dupatta carrying a wider Banarasi border to frame the set. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A silk-by-cotton Banarasi blends two looms' worth of discipline — the silk gives the drape its sheen, the cotton its breath and softness. Kadhua placement on this hybrid ground is exacting, since the two fibres absorb and reflect light differently, and the weaver must compensate at the loom.
Styling Note
Tailor the kurta straight or in an anarkali cut; the cotton-blend ground holds form under stitching. Pair with churidars or palazzo. Style with antique-gold jhumkis or kundan studs — the red holds gold tones strongly. The dupatta is wide enough to drape across both shoulders or pleat over one.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom suit set is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the suit set to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the suit set, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the suit set stay beautiful for years.
