A lemon yellow Banarasi Katan silk saree, built in a continuous Jangla layout — a flowering vine that travels across the body, the motifs touched with Meenadar colour inside the zari outlines. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with coloured Meena worked into each bloom. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A Kadhua weave is uncompromising: the loom only releases as much fabric as its weft floats allow, and every motif is paid for in loom hours. That patience is what makes the textile rare — the placement holds, the zari sits flush, and no two pieces emerge identical from the loom.
Styling Note
This saree drapes beautifully in the Nivi style, the anchal falling cleanly to lead the eye. Pair with kundan or polki jewellery — the zari work reads best against warm metal tones. A lemon or ivory raw silk blouse keeps the focus on the weave; a contrast blouse in a deeper tone of the border colour works equally well.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
