A pure Katan silk Banarasi saree in soft lilac, with a Chinar Jangla layout — scrolling vines and chinar-leaf florals carried unbroken across the full body of the drape. The composition runs continuous from selvedge to anchal. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the chinar leaves, the vine pattern and the framing edges are all built in gold. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Jangla is the most ambitious of Banarasi compositions — a continuous flowering field that does not break. The weaver carries the vine pattern unbroken across every metre of the drape, and any slip in placement would show. That discipline, sustained over weeks of weaving, is the luxury.
Styling Note
Drape Nivi or Lehenga-style; the long Jangla composition rewards a clean pleat at the front. Pair with antique-gold, polki or kundan, and choose a blouse in deeper purple, mauve or ivory raw silk.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom saree is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
