Peach Pure Katan Silk Handloom Banarasi Thaan
A handwoven Banarasi fabric thaan in soft peach, woven in Pure Katan Silk and carrying thread-by-thread Kadhua butti laid evenly across the field — Banarasi by the metre, sold for tailors, ateliers and home commissions. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the field carries the same loom discipline whether the cloth becomes a saree, a lehenga, or a kurta. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
Buying Banarasi by the metre is buying loom time — the same patient Kadhua process that makes a saree also makes this thaan. Each butti is constructed in the body of the cloth, never embroidered on after, which is why a Banarasi thaan keeps its weight and its glow long after it has been stitched into its final form.
Styling Note
This thaan stitches beautifully into a saree, lehenga or long kurta. Pair the finished piece with antique gold or pearl jewellery to echo the zari, and consider a blouse or lehenga in tonal peach or ivory raw silk so the weave stays the centre of the look.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom textile is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the textile to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the textile, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the textile stay beautiful for years.
