Pink Pure Katan Silk Handloom Banarasi Thaan
A handwoven Banarasi thaan in pink, the running length carrying thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs woven evenly across the cloth. The motifs are all woven in zari, holding their placement so that the fabric can be cut and tailored without breaking the rhythm of the pattern. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A thaan is not lesser — it is the same loom discipline as a saree, simply offered by the metre. Each butti is built into the cloth thread by thread, which is why a Banarasi length holds its character once it has been tailored into a kurta, a blouse or a panelled lehenga.
Styling Note
Tailor as a fitted blouse, a kurta panel, or a sherwani body — the pink suits both daily polish and dressier silhouettes. Style the finished garment with antique-gold jhumkas and a slim chain, or with kundan for a softer dress register.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom thaan is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the thaan to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the thaan, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the thaan stay beautiful for years.
