Red Meenadar Jangla Pure Silk Handloom Banarasi Dupatta
A handwoven pure Katan silk Banarasi dupatta in red, with scrolling vines and florals in a continuous Jangla layout drawn over the field, the motifs picked out in meenakari coloured silk alongside the zari. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, the Meenadar enamel layered into the gold work for jewel-bright contrast. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom.
A Meenadar Jangla is among the slowest pieces to leave a Banarasi loom — every motif is outlined in zari, then filled with coloured silk weft in a separate pass. The unbroken field of the Jangla compounds the work, since every motif has to follow the next without break across the length of the dupatta.
Styling Note
Drape across both shoulders to let the Jangla field show across the back, or pleat over one for a sharper fall. Style with antique-gold or kundan, and let the Meenadar colour bring its own warmth. The dupatta pairs equally well over a tonal red outfit or a contrast ivory one.

Caring for Your Handloom
A handloom dupatta is not just worn — it is preserved, rested, and cared for over time.
After wearing, allow the dupatta to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable.
Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the dupatta, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the dupatta stay beautiful for years.
